Signs of the times?

Insignias in the military are like logos: they speak volumes at a glance.  And religious insignia on  uniforms*  are no different.  This is  presumably  why it is taking a while for the military to come up with a symbol for the Hindu chaplain — and why there is a bit of a controversy when it comes to Messianic Jews.  The Navy declared that their beliefs in the divinity of Christ means they should wear a cross; Messianic Jews, on the other hand, believe they should wear the same tablets as other Jewish chaplains.  Blogs have weighed in — some praising the decision, others weighing the ramifications.  This all happened more than two years ago, but the debate continues…
